What Our Clients Have to Say

My wife and I recently returned from our "Bucket List" trip to Scotland to play golf in St. Andrews.
We started planning this trip about 14 months prior to our departure and probably like most people searched the Web for companies that provided travel services to the St. Andrews area. We had one "must" item on our list, and that was a guaranteed tee time at the Old Course.

We received many responses from different suppliers, however, Golf Scotland was the only company that had a local representative in Calgary that I could actually sit face to face with and design a trip especially for us. We met with Gary Chiste and he developed a plan especially for us, just as we wanted it. This included providing us with a guaranteed tee time at the Old Course. He didn't just tell us we had a guaranteed time, he actually gave us the date and time that we would be playing.  Some other tour companies we spoke with couldn't do that.  Gary suggested different types of accommodations for us, and we settled on the Old Course Hotel: a great choice- a great room overlooking the 17th hole of the Old Course.  I loved sitting at the window, glass of wine in hand, just looking out onto the course and the town of St. Andrews.  Gary has been to St. Andrews many times, so he could answer any questions and make great recommendations on what we could do aside from playing golf.  We met with Gary a few times to fine-tune our trip, as we made a few changes from the original plan, but the changes were very easy to do.  A few weeks prior to our departure , we received a full package that had certificates for our accommodations, car rental and tee times.  We arrived to St. Andrews by train from London. Golf Scotland's driver was there waiting for us, and delivered us straight to the Old Course Hotel, where they were waiting for us and helped us to our fantastic room.  The next day our pre-arranged driver was there to pick us up and take us to Carnoustie. A few days after our arrival, our pre-arranged rental car was delivered to our hotel right on time. Throughout our trip, all of our tee times were set up perfectly and all courses were expecting us. Our caddies were arranged in advance by Golf Scotland and were easy to work with.

I can't say I have anything negative to say about how Golf Scotland assisted us with this trip. I highly recommend Golf Scotland. I will use them again, as I look forward to going back to St. Andrews. We absolutely loved that town.

Thank you to Gary and Brian at Golf Scotland for making our "Bucket List" trip such success!

Just wanted to shoot you an e-mail to say thanks ever so much for putting this trip together for our group here, from the PGC to the “home of golf” in St. Andrews and area Scotland. I got home yesterday at approximately 4:30 and am still trying to now deal with the “jet-lag”, thus the early morning message.

I believe I speak for all of us when I say we appreciate all your hard work & diligence to get all the information together from one & all that made this trip for many of us a “golf trip of a lifetime”.

In particular when we had a bit of an issue at the Old Course with caddies, your man on the ground at the course, Ben, was most helpful to make further arrangements with the folks at St. Andrews to expedite things, and we were able to play with seven of the seven caddies required for our group. I know it made that round extra special for me to enjoy the round not only with the guys from PGC, but having a caddie was the cherry on top. So a special thanks to Ben and also to Brian who, when we were faced with a weather delay (fog) on the Sunday round at the West Links course, was able to work his magic to find an alternate course to play, even though eventually it was not actually required, as the fog lifted and we were able to play that beautiful course, and enjoyed perhaps the most breath taking scenery of all the course. Again debatable as every course had it own charm and characteristics that made them all unique in their own way.

Lastly the accommodation was first class, as none of us had been to that area previously. The Chateau du vin was ideal being so close and walkable for everyone with all the neat pubs and shops close by, not to mention St. Andrews a mere driver and wedge or so down the street. Then the Marine Hotel in North Berwick was so good, as well as the location was perfect: very walkable to town and to that majestic West Links golf course (my personal favourite), just out the back door.

I could continue rambling on and on, but as duty calls and now have to get back to work to pay the bills, I will conclude by saying simply thanks, and would highly recommend your company and yourself and the team to anyone else who is looking for a fabulous golf trip.

Most Sincerely,

Kevin Rodgers, Pacific Golf Club.
